A career counseling session was organized for the Class 12 students of Army Public School Dighi by the Army Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (AIHMCT), Bangalore. The session aimed to provide insights into hotel management, catering, and hospitality careers. Representatives from AIHMCT shared detailed information about the courses offered, career opportunities, and the skills required to excel in this dynamic field. The interactive session helped students understand the potential growth in hospitality careers and clarified admission processes, encouraging them to explore diverse career options post-graduation.

EVENT: Fire Drill

DETAILS:

Army Public School Dighi held a mock fire drill with personnel from TB 2 to improve fire safety awareness and emergency readiness among students and staff. After the alarm, students efficiently evacuated to a safe zone, guided by TB 2 personnel. They were briefed on critical fire safety practices, such as using fire exits and performing “Stop, Drop, and Roll” if needed. The demonstration of fire extinguisher use reinforced key safety measures, boosting overall preparedness in the school.

EVENT: Bagless Day -Field Trip

On Bagless Day, 6th and 7th-grade students from Army Public School Dighi visited the War Memorial and War Museum at BEG & Centre to deepen their understanding of India’s military history. They paid homage to fallen soldiers and learned about the values upheld by the Indian Army, such as courage and dedication. The museum’s exhibits, including weapons and military artifacts, provided insight into the evolution of military technology and engineering’s role in battle. This educational trip left students with a renewed sense of patriotism and respect for the armed forces.

World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10th each year, aiming to raise awareness of mental health i s sues wor worldwide and mobi l i ze ef for t s in support of mental health. During the C C A period, a series of activities were conducted like basic breathing techniques, guided meditation, poster-making activities, badge making activities to express self-care and positivity. It provided an opportunity to come together to highlight the importance of mental well-being and the need to provide better mental health care, support, and resources.

EVENT: Prabal Army Super 50 Entrance Exam

DETAILS:

Army Public School Dighi conducted the entrance examination for the Prabal Army Super 50 program on 14th October 2024. This initiative offers 11 months of free residential coaching for NEET, JEE, State Engineering, and other medical entrance exams at 34 centers across India. The program is designed for meritorious students from Army families who lack the financial means to pursue their academic dreams. Participants are coached by faculty from top IITs and renowned institutes, in an environment that fosters a focused approach to studies . The exam covered core subjects: physics, C hemi s t ry, Biology ( for NEET) and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics ( for JEE) .Key centers include Pune (NEET) , Sukna ( JEE/NEET) , and Beas ( JEE) .

EVENT: Bagless Day – Diwali Celebration

DETAILS:

The children shared Diwali sweets, decorated diyas, bringing out their creativity and understanding of traditional art forms, students displayed their artistic skills by creating beautiful rangoli patterns, judged based on creativity and use of color, they also drew mehendi designs on each other’s palms. The celebration successfully brought the school community together, leaving everyone with the message of harmony and the spirit of Diwali.
