EVENT: ‘The Art of Storytelling’ Seminar

DETAILS:

A group of Apps enthusiastic teachers gathered at FC college for a captivating seminar on ‘The Art of Storytelling’. The event aimed to equip educators with the skills to craft compelling narratives that engage and inspire students.

Renowned storyteller and educator Deepa Kiran led the session with infectious enthusiasm and expertise. Through interactive exercises, engaging discussions, and captivating storytelling examples, the speaker demonstrated the power of storytelling in the classroom.

– Techniques for engaging students and promoting active listening

– Strategies for conveying complex concepts and values through storytelling

The seminar concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm among the teachers. Empowered with the art of storytelling, they are now ready to weave a narrative of success in their classroom.

EVENT:CBSE – Peer Life Skills & Well-being Leadership Program 2024

NO OF STUDENTS PARTICIPATED: 4 Peer Educators + 50 Students

CLASS: 9th

DETAILS:

  • Adolescent Peer Educators Life Skills Leadership Program (Phase 5)
  • Organised by CBSE
  • Consisted of implementation of a series of interactive Orientation Programs for schools across India
  • Students were encouraged to be Peer Educators to enrich as change-makers along with mentor teachers as sentinels of life skills and well-being climate in the school.
  • The batch 163 of the training program took place for 4 days in October, 2024 (21st, 22nd, 24th and 25th)
  • The total duration of the program is 8 hours
  • Participants – Peer educators from grade 9 (Deepthi, Vaishnavi, Shweta, and Manasvi) along with 2 mentor teachers (Sujana Sreeram as counselor & Sneha Shinde as wellness teacher)
  • Attendees – Interactive club students along with a few students from grades 8 and 9
  • It was an interactive session where the students shared their opinions

EVENT:Visit to Chaitanya Rehabilitation Center Kondhwa

NO OF STUDENTS PARTICIPATED: 14 Students

DETAILS:

Being a psychology student a visit to rehabilitation centre was an enlightening and impactful experience, offering insights into the dedicated efforts made to help individuals on their journey to recovery. Learning about patients personal story of overcoming obstacles was inspiring and provided valuable lessons in perseverance. Meeting individuals who were actively engaged in their recovery journey showcased us the importance of resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

  •  It was definitely a profound learning experience as interacting with individuals undergoing rehabilitation exposed us to visitors from diverse experiences, and perspectives and learning about the various factors contributing to addiction, mental health issues, or physical disabilities fostered a deeper understanding of the complexity of these challenges and helped us understand a pragmatic approach of what WE study in psychology. It also involved educational components, where we learnt about the various aspects of rehabilitation, treatment modalities, and the importance of community support.
  • After visiting this rehabilitation centre ,We are certainly inspired to volunteer our time or resources to support the centre’s activities through whichever way possible. Witnessing the struggles and successes of individuals in a rehabilitation centre  evoked empathy in all of us .The various activities done by us involved organizing arts and crafts assistance in creating a memorable christmas for them .

A visit to rehabilitation centre served as a rich learning experience by exposing all of us to the multifaceted nature of recovery and emphasizing the importance of compassion, support, and individualized care in the journey towards well-being.

EVENT: Bagless Day -Christmas celebration

NO OF STUDENTS PARTICIPATED: 1500 Students

CLASS: 6th to 9th

DETAILS:

 Our Christmas celebration was a delightful mix of fun, creativity, and learning, fostering a sense of community among students, teachers , and staff. A bagless day was organized on 20th De c 2024 . Students decorated their classrooms, they designed beautiful cards , sang carols, shared yummy Christmas treats with their classmates etc .
